Something that might appear very ordinary to you at home seems extraordinarily lovable or remarkable when you're abroad. In one way, that's good (it's always nice to have a sense of childlike wonder), but in others, it's not so helpful (you might end up paying three times the going rate for what is, essentially, a cup of coffee). Keep a sense of perspective. No matter how delightful something seems, take a big step back and a deep breath before you commit your plans for the day or a portion of the contents of your wallet.
